Security, privacy, and how it all works
Your privacy matters to us. Here are the most important details, followed by questions people ask, and links to our terms and privacy policy at the bottom of this page.
We welcome security reports. Sign in and write to us from your account, and we will reply as soon as we can.
The basics
- Minnie is an app for the Mac that lives in your menu bar. You sign in with Google, Microsoft or your email.
- You start every dictation and every meeting yourself. Minnie never records on its own and never joins a call.
- Speech is transcribed on your Mac by a speech model that runs on the Mac itself.
Your audio stays on your Mac
- Minnie does not upload audio from dictation or meetings. It is transcribed on the Mac and the recording is not kept.
- Dictated text is typed at your cursor on the Mac. It is not sent anywhere to be typed.
What does leave your Mac
- When you give a command, its words are sent to Minnie's service so a model can pick the action. The service passes them to our model provider and returns the answer.
- Your account details, plan and device list are stored so you can sign in and manage your Macs.
Model training
- Minnie does not train models on your words, your History or your meetings.
You control your History
- History lives on your Mac. You can delete any item, prune it after 7, 90 or 365 days, or keep it forever.
- Anything that sends, deletes, pays or publishes asks you first, every time it runs.

Data Security
How is my account protected?
Sign-in runs in your browser through an established identity provider. Each Mac gets its own sign-in token, stored hashed on our side, which you can revoke from your account at any time.
How are payments handled?
Payments are handled by Stripe. Minnie never sees or stores your card number.
Is data encrypted?
Everything between the app and Minnie's service travels over HTTPS.
How do I delete my account?
Sign out on each Mac and ask us from your account page to delete your account. History on your Mac is yours and stays there until you delete it.
